Kanan weight loss 30 kgs

Here we bring to you the true transformation story of several Indians who managed to lose several kilograms fro their body weight. These people are a true inspiration for many of us who don’t take any action to kick-start their transformation.

50-year old Kanan lost 30 kg in 2 years

Today we bring to you the true story (transformation) of 50-year old Kanan, who managed to lose 30 kgs over a period of 2 years. Kanan is definitely an inspiration to all the middle-aged women.

Kanan weight loss 30 kgs

Kanan is a writer, painter, educationist, healthy living counselor and freelancer, turned into a fitness freak from being a couch potato, repacked her free soul from 98 kg to 68 kg frame and fell in love with life all over again at the age of 45.

Take Action Now

I am not at all ashamed to say that I love myself and can do anything to keep myself happy. My story is of a ‘nice cute chubby baby’ who loved chocolates, candies, cakes and as its aftermath turned into a massive 98 kg woman.

How it happened is no secret as we know unhealthy lifestyle and uncontrolled eating habits are always the biggest culprit. But I recovered and managed to pack my happy soul inside a 68 kg body.

My story is the story of losing 30 kg weight in two years.

I had always loved reading, dramatics, music, art and everything that I could do sitting at one place. I hated exercising. By the time I reached college and completed my post-graduation I was 75 kg on the scale with 5ft 2 inches in height. Exercising and not indulging in food was too big a price to pay just to look good. Nah! Not to my liking.

A life weighing 73 kg was fun as I started working and then got married. It was after having two kids I realized I was around 80 kg by the age of 35. I still had ample excuses for not doing my basic regular walks “Oh come on I am working, have to look after the home and these two devils— no- no- no I don’t have any energy or time for exercising.”

By the age of 45, because of my unhealthy lifestyle I was on medication for asthma, palpitation, backache and high blood pressure. Earlier I had been on anti-depressants and steroids too. I was not able to sleep at night without using inhaler and was breathless all the time.

I finally resigned from my teaching job and do something about my health problems as I was getting sick popping those pills day and night. I was this huge 98 kg with zero self-esteem and cranky all the time. I always tried to avoid family photo sessions because I hated what I saw there.

I just hated to look at my clothes drying on the line as they looked like tent. In fact I hated each and everything about me. What I hated the most was my hatred for myself and low confidence.

  • I wanted to change my life and my first step towards better life was regular walks in the evenings.
  • I bought a few books based on weight loss and realized that I needed to get moving.
  • I increased my walking speed and time slowly but my legs ached. I was hungry all the time, struggling to stay away from food but was failing badly.
  • I was walking two hours daily but my heart broke the day I stepped on the scale after a month of regular walking— the scales were behaving like an adamant child in front of ice cream parlour, not ready to budge at all.

I was the same 98 kg even after a month. Now what?? Should I give up or think of something else!!

I began looking for diet plans on internet and started experimenting with various diet plans. Even after two months nothing really was working out for me. I was getting frustrated but then I saw a ray of hope as I found something promising that could help me out.

I tried it for three weeks and bingo!! That was it, I had lost almost 7 kg.

Well, I am sure you are thinking about three things right now.

  1. What the magic was that made me lose that nasty obstinate fat so fast?
  2. What I ate during those three weeks?
  3. What exercises did I do?

I will disclose all my secrets step by step in my next few posts, but one clarification here. Neither am I a dietician nor a trainer but yes I am someone who realized in time that the most precious thing in this world is ME. It’s high time you too understand it and get up, pull yourself out of your comfort zone and get moving – start walking.

Walk Tip: If you find it difficult to go outside don’t bother, do spot walking at home. Spot walk 100 steps while standing in the kitchen, 100 before you take bath, 100 while watching TV, using washing machine — No-no-no don’t laugh, aim is to move your body —-I have done it and still do it. So get moving and love yourself because if you don’t look after yourself no one ever will.

Till I see you again,
Love Life- Live Life.

39 year old Seema Bhavnani lost 31Kgs weight

39 year old Seema Bhavnani lost 31Kgs weight in a span of a year. Here Seema shares how she managed to achieve that feat.

Seema Bhavnani

When I weighed 106 kgs, everything was difficult – breathing to doing normal chores. My hubby underwent bariatric surgery and looked fit and stunning after that, so even I decided it was time for a change.

If the mind is made then the weightloss journey is a cake walk, says Seema. Seema found a good trainer and ate only healthy food to reach her fitness goal.

Exercises

I would exercise for 1-2 hour daily, based on what my trainer instructed.

I did strength training exercises, which helped me build muscles, and I could do the exercises better. I also did Zumba, a dance work out which kept the energy going. These exercises made me feel my muscles moving and my limbs vibrating.

My weekly schedule would be somewhat like this:

  • Zumba 3 days a week
  • 2 days strength training
  • Yoga 3 days a week.

Supplements

I took these supplements:

Obicure Protein Powder, Obicure Tablet, Triphala Gugglu, Medhohar Vati

Diet Plan

This is the diet plan Seema followed for her Transformation (she had around 8-9 meals everyday). This is a sample diet, as it keeps on changing depending on what the dietician.

<0l>

  • Meal 1: 2 slices of apple or papaya, 7:45 am
  • Meal 2: Curd with 1 cucumber and 1 full nachni khakra, 9:00 am.
  • Meal 3: 2 dates and 4 almonds, 11:00 am.
  • Meal 4: 1 ragi roti, mixed vegetable, salad and a bowl of curd, 1:00 pm
  • Meal 5: 1 orange / apple, 4:00 pm
  • Meal 6: 1 glass cold coffee, 6:30 pm
  • Meal 7: 1 Nachni Khakra and soup, 8:00 pm
  • Meal 8: Omlette with 2 egg whites and big bowl of vegetables (onion tomato capsicum and olives), 9:30 pm
  • Meal 9: 4 munacas and 2 anjeer, 11:00 pm

Seema is loves junk food, and used to eat out at-least twice a week. But she chose healthy options, making soup her best friend, had dates and raisins to curb her taste buds for sweet. Instead of cold drinks, she has water, fresh lime water etc.

How Does it Feel Now?

  • After losing 31 kgs, I can now run, swim better, breathing has become better, and I do not feel drained. I also eat well
  • I don’t get irritated/annoyed which I would often be earlier, I guess its because I am satisfied with myself.
  • My relationship with my partner has improved to a great extent, physically and emotionally. My relation with my teenaged daughter is improving as she says I have become calmer.
  • Looks-wise, I now wear fitted clothes, branded ones and I get my size at normal stores and don’t have to go to ‘plus sized’ stores.
  • I am also going to start preparing for marathons. I make heads turn at 40, because of my transformation, and lots of people stop to applaud me and seek my advice on weight loss.

Manasvi Jaitly’s inspiring weight loss journey: 80kgs to 52Kgs

Manasvi Jaitly’s inspiring weight loss journey, from being over kgs to participating in beauty pageants.

Manasvi Jaitly

Manasvi Jaitly shares here inspiring journey and how her new body has “changed her life forever”. Here’s an inspirational weight loss (Indian) story.

Like every little girl, I too dreamt of being Miss India. And that dream did come true, partially. I was a semi-finalist in 2012 and was crowned Miss North India 2011 and May Queen 2010. I am a model and an anchor. I love the lights, camera and all the glitter that comes with my field. I simply love it here!

While most young girls have this dream, in the case of Manasvi Jaitly, the only problem was that Manasvi weighed more than 80 kgs.

As a result, she withdrew from everything and everyone. She spent all my time indoors, when others of her age would party and go outdoors. As a result, her confidence went for a toss.

However, things changed when she passed out of college (I guess she became more determined).

“From somewhere, I still don’t know how, I got the motivation to lose weight. I come from a middle class family. Spending on gyms and expensive diets was not an option for me, especially because I didn’t know if I would follow the routine. And so I started out on my own.”

Here’s what Manasvi did.

  • She loved dancing, so she started by dancing for 45 minutes every day. She would put on some peppy music and dance her heart out. Not only did it make her sweat; it was a nice stress-buster too.
  • She cut down on all the fatty stuff — colas, chocolates, and even rice. She stuck to poha, besan ka puda, chila or a brown bread sandwich for breakfast. Lunch would be lots and lots of fruits or salad. Around 4 pm she would eat two rotis, dal and sabzi. Manasvi avoided oily and fattening sabzis like arbi and bhindi. In the evenings she took coffee and an early salad.
  • She checked out some good exercise videos on YouTube and started targeting different areas — exercise for the arms, hips, belly fat etc. Now she was doing 30 minutes of dance + 30 minutes of YouTube exercises.

Once she was confident about herself, she joined a local gym and started doing and weights for her arms.

In around 8-9 months, she weighed 60 kgs (from 80 Kgs). That is when she took part in May Queen. Despite being a little on the heavier side, she won due to her other qualities. And then there was no looking back.

When I took part in Miss India, I came down to 52 kgs. The last five kgs took a lot of time and effort. I used to do my YouTube exercises for around 45 minutes and basic gymming for half an hour and followed the same diet. My initial weight loss was very quick. The last five kgs took more than two months.

The best part is that Manasvi achieved the desired figure all by herself, without taking the help of a fitness trainer during her weight loss journey.

So what are you waiting for; there’s so much free (useful) advice here for you to get started.

33 year old Jyoti Ganju lost 30 Kgs

Jyoti Ganju, now settled in Australia, talks about her weight loss journey and how it has changed her life…after losing 30 Kgs in weight.

Transformation period: 90 kgs to 61 kgs in a year.

Jyoti Ganju

The Decision to Transform My Body

I gained a lot of weight after my baby was born. Everybody around me said that it happens to women after becoming a mother and its difficult to get the original figure back. It was really demotivating.

That was when I decided that had to make a difference. I said to myself that I can win upon the situation. Not only did I get my body back, but I am feeling healthy and fit.

I wanted to inspire other moms and show that having kids didn’t mean your own fitness goals disappear.

How I Lost 30 Kgs

Healthy eating, regular exercise, self control and discipline is what it takes. Dieting requires the most change and discipline.

I reduced my sweets and junk food intake and went to gym at least 4-5 times a week.

But it was all about not giving up.

Training/Exercises to Reach My Goal

  • I did a mix of cardio and weight training on 4 days a week.
  • One day would be Light activity like yoga, walk, light jog.
  • I took 2 days rest in a week

Diet Plan that Did the Transformation

  • Breakfast or Post-workout: 4 egg whites, 1/2 cup Oatmeals, Honey
  • Meal 2: Spinach salad with a splash of vinegar, Salmon 4 oz
  • Meal 3:
100g Natural Yogurt. 1 small handful mixed Berries. 4 Wheat Biscuits. 2 tbsp natural Peanut Butter OR handful roasted Mixed Nuts
    OR on weight days
1 cup of Rice/Pasta with homemade Tomatoes, Onion, Chili, Garlic. 4 Wheat Biscuits. 2 tbsp natural Peanut Butter
  • Meal 4: 3 Eggs and an Orange OR
Combination of Almonds and Walnut OR
Black Chickpea’s (Black chana) sprout OR
    1 bowl chopped cabbage OR
4 Slices of Brown bread with peanut butter

  • Meal 5 (Dinner): 2 Phulka/Roti (without oil & ghee) ,
    ½ Cup Vegetables curry,
    1 Cup Dal,
    1 Bowl Salad.
    OR
    1 Cup Cooked Brown Rice
    1 Cup Vegetables curry,
    1 Cup Dal
    1 Bowl Salad

  • Meal 6 (Before Bed): Oats with Skimmed milk
3 Egg whites and any fruit juice

Challenges Faced

I think the most challenging aspect was dieting. I loved being in the gym, but changing my eating habits was difficult (as has been observed in most other transformation stories).

My diet was fairly flexible, but being around people who were eating cake, pizza, and chocolates was always tough.

However, the key to success is to keep on trying, as it eventually ensures you get to the finish line.

How is the Feeling after the Transformation

Not only did I get my figure back but also I am feeling healthy, confident, fit and can also contribute more towards my family and towards myself too.

Seriously, you can do anything that you put your mind in to!

Suggestions For Aspiring Transformers

Here are some inspiring thoughts from Jyoti Ganju.

Don’t wait for until the next month or next week; you should start right away. Just find a good trainer, spend money on yourself. You are definitely worth it. Tell everyone what you’re doing and be accountable to anyone who will listen.

Swati Sodhi’s fitness journey from 92 kilos to 57 kilos (lost 35 kilos)

Here’s how Swati Sodhi, a mother of two, went from 92 kilos to 57 kilos. Swati Sodhi is now a nutrition coach herself at an online portal. Read more about her fitness journey of becoming fit from fat.

Name: Swati Sodhi
Highest weight recorded: 92 kilos
Weight lost: 35 kilos

Swati Sodhi weight loss story

The Turning point

Before losing weight this time, I had also lost 20 kilos in 2009 after my previous delivery. But I gained it back after delivering my second baby. This time, it got more difficult because I had two kids to look after. My husband’s profession made it all the more difficult (he is a captain in Merchant Navy) which involves him staying out of country for 8 months a year. So, taking care of my kids, running after them day in and out and panting hard made me realize that I must stay fit and healthy.

Not to mention, I had always been an exercise freak… be it dance, yoga, weight lifting or whatever, I kept doing something or the other. But that was before I had the kids. With two kids, it was impossible to find time for a decent meal, let alone some exercise.

So I started to eat clean six days a week.

Diet

My breakfast: Oats, eggs, paneer cutlets, chicken sandwich with protein shake
My lunch: Grilled or sauteed veggies with chicken/fish/paneer with rice
My dinner: Only grilled chicken and veggies with soup
FAT BUSTER: How this mother lost 28 kilos!
I indulge in: One meal a week which has to be Italian.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Oats cheela. For this, grind 40 grams of oats and make a paste with water and add spices to your taste. Spread it on a non-stick pan and stuff with pre-sauteed spinach, mushrooms and cheese.

Workout

My workout: 30 minutes of weight lifting and 20 minutes of Cross Fit. For a few days, I also practised power yoga for stretching and flexibility.
