The top nutritionists in India

July 11, 2020 by fitbiz 1 Comment

rujuta diwekar

These are the top nutritionists in India who are sought after by film stars and top businessmen. In fact, many of these nutritionists are like celebrities in their own right.

One single diet does not fit everyone. What works for one, may not work for some other person. One persons needs could be different, what is available to that person could be different.

So its important to tailor each persons’ diet, but you need to ensure, you are completing the cycle of nutrition.

While balancing your carbs, proteins, fats and fibre in the right proportion is extremely important, you also need to balance out the five basic taste buds (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter) that all of us have.

These nutritionists are experts in diet-related matters and their advice are sought after even by film stars to help them get the body they desire.

Rujuta Diwekar

Rujuta Diwekar is arguably the most well-known nutritionist in India. She is the winner of the prestigious ‘nutrition award’ from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. She has also authored several nutrition books such as Indian Super Foods, The PCOD – Thyroid Book, Don’t Lose Out, Work Out, Indian Food Wisdom and Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight.

She regularly consults Bollywood celebrities and in the past has consulted Kareena Kapoor Khan (remember the size-zero transition of Tashan in 2008).

Rujuta is also an exercise science expert, and has studied yoga and Vedanta at Rishikesh.

Marika Johansson

Marika Johansson, Trainer and nutritionist

Marika Johansson is a professional trainer, an athlete, and a nutritionist. She is the only nutritionist to have a wicked physique that makes her look more like a trainer.

Marika was the nutritionist for Hrithik Roshan for the movie Krrish 3. She is also the nutritionist for Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra.

Pooja Makhija

pooja makhija

Pooja Makhija is a celebrity nutritionist, among India’s top experts on nutrition, has thousands of clients, and has worked with Bollywood stars like Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Sushmita Sen.

Pooja knows that eating the right food can drastically transform people’s life.

Suman Agarwal (Selfcare)

Suman Agarwal, founder of Selfcare, is an experienced and qualified clinical nutritionist, as well as a fitness expert.

She creates bespoke diet plans – ranging from weight loss programs to plans designed to avoid certain ailments (circumvent aging, evade arthritis, diabetes or hypertension).

Selfcare is all about weight-loss with a difference. I would say we are more of a health management centre, and weight loss is just a by product. You may come to our centre for weight loss, and for us its very easy. What we actually want to do is help you overcome all your ailments, such as diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, gas, acidity, gout, vitamin deficiencies. So our job is to help you eliminate these issues from your life, along with helping you with your weight loss. What we do is we find out what diseases which you could be genetically pre-disposed to, based on your various blood reports. With the right medical help and necessary dietery changes, you can reverse most of these problems, says Suman Agarwal

Exercise is Important

While diet takes about 70% credit for weight loss, the remaining 30% can only be met through exercise.

So, exercise is very important for weight loss or for body transformation.

Every exercise regime should be personalised.

It should suit your body, lifestyle, and surrounding. If somebody has knee-pian, the exercises should be suggested accordingly.

Suman Agarwal or Selfcare displayed no capability whatsoever in diagnosing the issue that is unique to an individual or handling the responsibility of the outcome. They use some website(something I can find on the web very easily) where they populate a diet – stuff like 80gms chicken, 100 gms milk, 50 gms humbug and come up with a diet plan of a certain amount of calories, which is almost exactly what I was consuming anyways. Every week at the weight check they will tell you that we are adding another marie biscuit or taking away 2 marie biscuits and this goes on forever. They make you do a battery of tests and don’t have the ability to draw any conclusions from the results. And if all your indicators are normal, man are they even more clueless because they cannot pin down your inability to lose weight on any problem with your system.
