Kettlebell Exercises for Extreme Fitness & Total Body Strength: Kettlebell exercises are one of the most effective means to develop strength, flexibility and even to lose weight. These can be used by both men and women.

Introduction

Do you find the conventional bodybuilding routine at the gym boring? Try kettlebell workouts; these are fun and verstaile – you can do swings, snatches, cleans and jerks.

Kettlebells can be used to perform various types of exercises and you can even combine mobility, muscular endurance and coordination into one movement. They help discard dead weight from the body, leaving one lean and strong.

No wonder that many fitness trainers see the kettlebell as a versatile tool for achieving physical and mental strength.

What is a Kettlebell?

Kettle bells were first used in the Soviet Union! Kettlebell training formed a major part of the Soviet Union Special Forces training routine.

So how does a Kettlebell look?

A kettle bell (also known as “girya”) is a cast iron weight that looks like a cannon ball with a handle (unlike a dumbbell).

Kettlebells are not very easy to manoeuvre and requires you to already have some strength, to be able to handle it.

How to Use It for Exercising?

There are several ways in which you can use this equipment to lose weight and have a good toned body. Lot of people have combined these along with other exercises to get ripped and lose body fat. It is possible to do powerful full body workouts using just a KettleBell, and the best part is that you can do it at home.

I’m sure there would be skeptics who would say that this is just another of the several hypes that keep on getting introduced every other week that promises a lot of things. But the fact is that nothing works on its own; you have to be dedicated enough and do the right exercises on a regular basis.

And as is mentioned so many times by health experts, exercise has to be coupled with the right diet for the maximum benefit. This is one advice which lot of people ignore and that is one of the reasons that so many have extra belly fat and are unhappy with how their bodies look.

I would also agree that there are so many other exercises which one can do; some of which can be as simple as walking. But then there are many who can’t run for various reasons – most of which include their knees & ankles.

But then using a KettleBell is definitely an excellent option for total body workout. You can even use easy kettlebell progressions for general fitness; that will increase the heart rate and minimize joint problems.

Lot of fitness enthusiasts combine kettlebell exercises with other forms of exercises such as circuit workouts and it has surely helped them to get a toned body as well as lose body weight.

Kettlebell Exercise for Beginners

Kettlebell exercises Though beginners can use these, Kettlebells are more suitable for those who have already developed some strength and have the mental motivation to improve further.

Unlike traditional dumbbells, Kettlebells are much harder to handle. Kettlebells are ballistic weight exercises. The good thing about this is that it makes your muscles work harder.

Kettlebell exercises are especially helpful for combat athletes since you use fast motion to condition your body to absorb shock.

But if you are a beginner and wish to do these exercises, choose a one with much lower weight to start with!

Kettlebells for Extreme Fitness

Kettlebell workouts are used by Special Forces in the U.S; includes Hostage Rescues Teams, Secret Services, and Counter Assault Teams.

This should give you some idea about its extreme nature, and also the fact that it has been proven to give results.

With Kettelbells, it is not uncommon to lose 1 percent of body-fat a week for weeks. Looking to bulk up or get six-pack abs? Kettlebell exercises are the way to go!

Kettlebells – Different Sizes

Kettlebells come in different sizes. So what should you be using?

If you are a male, you may start with 35 lbs and gradually start increasing it. For female, 15-18lbs is recommended.

As you see, the weights are not that light!

Kettlebell exercises will help you develop a physique, more like those on statues from ancient Greece. Broad shoulders, well developed back muscles, wiry arms with rugged forearms, cut abdominals and strong legs.

Closing Thoughts

Kettlebell workout is one of the most effective means to develop strength and flexibility. Since it is not as easy to use as dumbbells, and are much heavier, the results that you get from Kettlebell workouts are far better. Kettlebell exercises are indeed extreme fitness exercises!
