Best ready-to-Eat (ready made) healthy snacks and brands in India.

Most of traditional Indian cooking is based on wholegrains and vegetables, and even most desserts can be prepared using these ingredients. Fruits are also an important part of Indian meals.

However, a fast-paced lifestyle and growing threat of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension is making many Indians shun high-calorie foods and drinks. People all over the world, including India, are saying no to food items laden with calories and sugar, due to health concerns, forcing companies like PepsiCo, Nestle and Coca-Cola do come up with healthier products.

People in India nowadays are looking for healthy nutritious food which can be prepared quickly, and companies wants to address that need.

As a result, food companies are looing at ways to carry forth the wellness mix found in traditional Indian meals into their products.

Many celebrity nutritionists believe that even ready made food can offer a combination of health and taste, something that Indian cuisine is so good at doing.

Oats

Oats can also be used as a healthy and tasty ingredient to many recipes.

Besides tasting great, Oats helps reduce cholesterol as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.

Saffola and Quaker Oats are quite popular with consumers. These are made with 100% natural, whole grain oats, and are sodium free.

Industry Updates

PepsiCo India to focus on hydration drinks and Quaker oats to appeal to health-conscious urban Indians. The company is keen to transform itself from a carbonated drink producing company to a health-focused firm.

Pepsi currently also sells the juice brand Tropicana and packaged food brand Quaker in India. PepsiCo India today offers an expanded range of products under its oats brand Quaker.

As lifestyles continue to change, PepsiCo is keen to add healthy products in its portfolio. Celebrity chef Chef Vikas has provided great inspiration for the company here in India and has played a key role in developing new recipes that are convenient, affordable, delicious and healthy.

Chef Khanna said, “It was fun to add nutritious ingredients like Oats and beetroot into familiar South Indian dishes for a special breakfast. Am excited to know that some of these flavours will be hitting the Indian market soon through infusion of Quaker Oats and grains”.
