Benefits of Back Strengthening Exercises?

The primary reason is that your back provides the much needed balance and alignment to your chest and abs.

If you do not have strong back muscles, it will not matter much if you have great abs and chest muscles. It simply will not because muscles complement each other. If you want strong arms, you will need to build your triceps as well as your biceps.

Similarly, if you want great looking chest and abs, you have to start working on back exercises.

Besides, you could become more prone to injury if you do not work out complementary muscle groups. You could easily have muscle-pulls and you will be more susceptible to sprains.

Here are some back strengthening exercises to help you develop strong back muscles.

The Various Pull Ups!

Close Grip Pull-Ups
With your hands facing-away from you, place them about shoulder width apart. Pull your chin up over the bar.

Wide Grip Pull-Ups
Same as close grip, just widen your grip beyond your shoulders.

Chin-Ups
With palms facing-in, place your hands shoulder with apart and pull your chin up over the bar.

Towel Pull-Ups
Loop a towel over your pull-up bar. Grab the towel with one hand and then do a pull-up. Switch hands after every 2-3 pull-ups.

Corn Cob Pull-Ups
These are some tough pull-ups. You may want to develop some strength doing regular pull-ups and chin-ups before attempting these.

Place you hands a little wider than shoulder width. Pull up and then shift your body to the left, then to the right. Come back to center and pull forward. Then go back down.

Don’t ignore back muscle exercise! That’s the summary here. Muscles tend to complement each other so if you want great looking chest and abs, you have to start working on back strengthening exercises. You will even become less prone to injury if you start working-out complementary muscle groups.
