Advantages of Using Premium WordPress Themes

fitness business ideas

If you’re trying to make a website using WordPress, you may be wondering what is the ‘best’ theme for building niche blogs or for affiliate marketing in general.

The short answer to that is it all depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.

Depending on whether you want to make an Amazon product review site, or clickBank product review site, or capture emails, or make an informational site (with ads as your monetization method), you may want to use a theme that helps you achieve your objective.

And though there are several free themes, its always advisable to use Premium Themes (paid themes), the most obvious reason being ‘security’.

There are many more reasons why you must use premium themes:

  1. Free themes often have malicious code (it happens more often than you think, particularly from certain 3rd party free theme sites), or links (in the footer) pointing to one of their sites.
  2. Paid themes are constantly updated by the author(s), and tested to ensure it works with the latest versions of WordPress. This is huge, because you don’t the theme you’re using on your site to ‘break/not work’ because of WordPress upgrade.
  3. Premium themes offer a help desk and/or a knowledge base along with a support forum. Many of the more popular premium themes have very active communities where you can get insights and feedback on a problem instantly.
  4. Many premium themes have detailed customization options; which means you have access to multiple columns, multiple widget areas, header customization or even something as simple as changing the color scheme (its really not so simple in most free themes unless you really understand html/php well).
  5. Some themes are ‘framework themes’, such as: Genesis, Thesis (to name a few). These offer a huge range of customization options and allow you to virtually build your theme from ground zero.
  6. Many premium themes are already SEO friendly, which means you actually don’t need a separate SEO plugin. They’re also optimized to load quickly, which is increasingly becoming more important (for search engine rankings).
  7. Many premium themes offer a ‘developers license’, which allows you to sell the theme; important if you intend to flip sites (also adds value to your offer if you including a premium theme as part of the sale).

Note: If you choose to use a free theme, its highly advisable to use the plugin ‘TAC’ (Theme Authenticity Checker) to check for malicious code.

To Conclude

There are some other reasons as well, but these are the main reasons to use premium (paid) WordPress themes.
