Make Websites for Local Businesses

March 24, 2020 by fitbiz Leave a Comment

fitness business ideas

You can make websites for local business (sports clubs, gyms, fitness studios, dietician) if you have some inclination towards technology. Here’s how to fo about it, and some useful ideas and suggestions.

There are various ways of making money online, but its not as easy as it looks. You need to experiment a lot before you start making money from any one method.

The key is to focus on one method, perfect it, make lots of money using that method, and move on to the next method.

Can You Sell Websites?

So if you’ve been working on a website for some time now and not seeing the results your desire, its probably time to give it a twist.

  • Make some changes to your blog theme (make it look better)
  • Do some promotion to get some more traffic.

Have pages on you site where you mention clearly that you’re open to the idea of “renting” advertising, and if you get the right offer, may be even sell your website.

Now, if you website is closely linked to any local business, chances are that you’ll find people approaching you to discuss more possibilities, including Buying your site.

And that is where the opportunity lies for you.

Besides, most of the time, you also get to maintain the website (once its sold) to maintain the rankings (easier for a local website)!

Target Local Businesses

As you can see, it’s possible to make several such websites, work on them for some time, and sell them for a profit.

A good alternative model, in-case you’re not making money with Adsense and/or affiliate marketing!

There are many freelancers who only focus on doing the bigger websites (with the intention of getting more and to do quality work) and keep passing up smaller money.

However, if you just take a step back and think – it’s actually much easy to develop local websites (few pages) using WordPress, and the money is much faster.

There are lots of small business owners who’re willing to pay for a WordPress website customized and delivered to them.

How to Build Localized Blogs

So, here’s how you should create these little localized blogs:

  • Look for a local service based industry (gym, club, yoga teaching)
  • Pick one – some XYZ wellness resort, XYZ swimming pool installations, XYZ organic foods, etc.
  • Buy a localized domain name (example: GoaWellness.com)
  • Write around 5 blog posts of good, original quality.
  • Create the “contact me” (with a small description of the things that users can post, including advertising), “privacy policy” and a “disclaimer page”.
  • Do some promotion (backlinking plus social bookmarking) to get traffic.

If you’re going to develop lots of sites, it makes sense to outsource the article creation for those sites. Get good quality articles, if they’re of lower quality, you’ll have a tough time selling them.

Getting Potential Customers

Once you are on the first page of Google (for that market), you can start talking to potential customers for selling the website (it’s easier once your website is ranking).

Don’t feel comfortable talking to potential customers?

Rope in your friend or a family member to become your sales person. Be prepared to offer them commission (10 to 20%) if they help you sell the site, and if you intend to make this a sustainable model for you.

If you find a client, tell them that you can also maintain the first page ranking for them, for a small fee (anywhere from 150 to $250 for some basic link building and/or adding a page of content once in a while).

You can also add their advertisement to the blog, easily done using plugins such as “Max Banner Ads”. you can also use the header graphic for advertisement.

What if the client is interested but don’t have the budget to buy the site? Offer them advertising instead on the site!

How Much to Charge?

The best way to get an idea of the pricing is to call any local website design company and ask them how much they would charge for a basic custom designed website.

Just pose a customer who has a certain requirement, and you’ll get an idea of how much you could charge.

Also, use a reseller hosting account (check out Hostgator) for great pricing & more profits. It allows you to use your allotted hard drive space and bandwidth to host websites on behalf of third parties.

Not happy building small sites? You can always make a big one with much more earning potential.

Here’s a typical example:

If you can build a website for any local business and help them drive traffic to it, it’s going to be worth much more.

If your site is able to get 1 new customer per week at $1000 per customer, that’s 4k per month, and 48K per year at only 4 new customers per month, its definitely going to be worth a lot more.

Any smart business owner would be willing to pay a lot more for an ROI like that!

But then, it’s definitely a lot more challenging to make something like this!

To Conclude

It’s always best to have multiple streams of income, and this strategy is definitely not that difficult to implement. Besides, if other revenue models have not been doing well for you, you could definitely consider making websites for local Businesses.
