Why Use Yoga Blocks?
So how does it help?
Yoga blocks help with poses that require more flexibility or stabilization.
For instance, while doing the Triangle pose, one hand reaches for the sky while the other reaches for the floor. This can be quite a stretch for some people. Placing a yoga block on the floor makes it easier to support the body.
For people with tight back or hamstring muscles, yoga blocks can change the angle and make the pose more comfortable until this weak area is strengthened.
A downward facing dog pose is done by putting a block for each foot against the wall first. Then after the hands are positioned on the floor, the feet go up on the blocks and then the buttocks can be raised up, giving a good stretch in the back and hamstrings.
